The MANRRS Animal Health and Care Academy Fellowship Program was started in 2021 with partners Covetrus, Merck Animal Health, USDA APHIS, and Zoetis. The immersive leadership and career development experience will target underrepresented students and expose them to traditional and non-traditional careers in the animal health and welfare industry.
Goals
Expose students to careers in the animal health and welfare industry
Provide mentorship to students looking to obtain career information about animal health careers
Build a network with Animal Health professionals
Increased representation of diverse candidates in Animal Health companies
Increased engagement of Animal Health companies with MANRRS
Outcomes
Increased awareness of non-veterinary careers in the animal health industry
Students gain knowledge and technical skills to be more competitive in the animal health industry
Students receive interviews for internships from participating companies
Students will develop a career plan (ongoing from start to finish of the program)
Criteria
Open to all collegiate members (Undergraduate students, Graduate students, and Independent student members)
Minimum GPA: 2.8
Must be an Animal Science, Agribusiness, or any related majors
