Junior MANRRS Smithfield Food Programs

Smithfield Foods is dedicated to helping communities through targeted philanthropy, employee volunteerism, and efforts such as scholarships that make a difference in real lives. Smithfield's focus is on three things – hunger relief, education, and veterans, where great strides through corporate giving and employee involvement have been made. The Smithfield Scholars program is another opportunity to fulfill their education initiative.

Smithfield Scholars Guidelines

Smithfield scholars

The Smithfield Scholars Program will provide support for high school seniors who have been accepted into a historically black college/university. The scholar’s program is competitively based and will provide selected scholars a $5,000 scholarship to a historical black college and university of their choice. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the school for the fall 2022 semester. Recipients of the scholarship are required to major in food, agriculture, animal science, natural resources, or a STEM-related field. As recipients of the scholarship, these students should join their local collegiate MANRRS chapter or in absence of a chapter, join as an independent student member.
